Evenings of Recollection

Monthly  |  Wednesdays 6:00pm - 8:00pm

The evenings of recollection aim to help men better live their faith in the midst of their work and family responsibilities. The schedule of the recollection includes:

  • Spiritual reading for personal reflection

  • A meditation preached by a priest of Opus Dei

  • Points for examining one’s Christian life

  • Holy Mass

Throughout the evening there are also opportunities for sacramental confession with the priest.

Recollections take place every second Wednesday of the month at Holy Spirit Church, Auchenflower (17 Harriett St, Auchenflower) beginning at 6pm and finish by 8pm with Holy Mass.

Weekend Retreats

Two each year  |  Friday 6:00pm - Sunday 3:00pm

Retreats provide a weekend away to reflect on God and the living out of one's faith at work, home and in social life. They are a wonderful annual activity to reconnect with your faith.

Retreats are conducted by priests of Opus Dei and include:

  • Periods of guided prayer in the chapel

  • Opportunity to attend Holy Mass and receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation

  • Some talks on virtues and prayer life

  • Time for personal reflection

  • Praying of the Stations of the Cross and the Rosary

The retreats begin at 6.00pm Friday night and finish by 3.00 pm Sunday afternoon and are held at Santa Teresa Spirituality Centre (267 Wellington St, Ormiston).
